Like any other state, West Bengal is also seeing an improvement in
its hotel industry. According to Cushman & Wakefield, Kolkata’s
hotel room inventory is set to grow by 105% and with this growth rate,
the city will add around 3818 rooms by 2017. Out of the total upcoming
room supply, 34% will be in mid-scale and 30% will be in luxury segment.
Similarly, 19% of the total future supply will come from upper luxury
and 10% will be in upscale brands. Only 7% will be in budget segment
hotel.
